Another Day Sales @ My Condo's Compound

`
It has been a while not be able to updates my blog due to work
commitments, followed by an overseas trip during the year-end season
and than preparing for my driving test (thank God I managed to pass
on 1st attempt just 2 days ago). BTW, I have taken another opportunity
to put up sales of my handmade crafts at my residential condo. My condo
had just organised a Carnival during the last December yend end.
`
Have a look at my booth set up. I still managed to generate some
sales although the human traffic were only limited to the condo's
residential. But because the booth was free to book and no transport
cost was needed, the sales was considered worthwhile. The most
important was that I came to know some handmade crafters and
could share our views and experiences about being a crafter.

A fruitful day @ Anderson Primary School

It has been a fulfilled, wonderful and fruitful day for me at The Jumbo Sales @ The Anderson Primary School. The overwhelmed stopped-by at my booth and sales kept pondered in really made me felt joyfulness and sort of unbelievable! I knew that this time I have meet the right group of consumers for my handmade stuff. Unlike the little sales and least passer-by at The Weekends Market last few weeks, my booth at the school had created quite a good response.

Here, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, teachers, parents of the existing students and parents of the next year Primary 1 student for visited my booth and some even buy something from me. Oh yes, also have to specially thank to the Principal of Anderson Primary School for visiting my booth and as well getting some handmade stuffs from me. The most enjoyable moment is that I have also received several praises for my handmade products. Never have I felt so great in selling before.

Have a look of my booth before and after set up. I have been offered a bigger table and, therefore, I can displayed my products more spaciousily and easily viewed or reached by consumers.

Mentioning a bit of the products that are displayed within easy reached by consumers somehow created a small problem for me. As you know, I am using soft clay to handmade these clips, fridge magnets or figurines. And, hence, my booth was most warm welcomed by little kids and guess what! Out of 10 children, 9 would naturally like to feel the clay products by squeezing on them. Probably the 10th child not doing that is because he/her hands is occupied with something or is holding by their parents. I sincerely did not blame anyone for doing it! I'm just worry that the soft clay would tend to break easily. Nevertheless, I think I need to change my future clay creations by using harder clay materials like polymer clay etc. That would probably avoid the problem. Anyway, thanks kids! I most welcome you to check out my booth to get anything you like.

I have also recommended parents to buy the soft clay material to have a good bonding time and sharing the fun of clay making with their kids during the school holiday. This will help the child to develop their motor skills, learn to appreciate handicraft and the value of patience. So, to all parents who have purchased the clay from me, feel free to contact me if you have any problem on using this clay. I'm most honor to assist you.

Another special person I need to thank is Cristin - one of the great parents volunteer for the School. It is my pleasure to have known you and let me have an opportunity to set up a booth at the school. Your lovely kids certainty had brought ecstasy to my booth and had also fetched an idea across my mind that I should have include a clay-making session for the kids on that particular day.

Check out my next few postings about some handmade items that had been sold. Once again, thanks to all who have patronised my booth either at The Weekends Market or at the school.

The Last Day @ The Weekends Market

It was the last day @ Weekends Market. From the excitement on the Day 1 to a bit bored and to a disappointment at the end of Day 2. I decided to spend my 3rd day there carefree and observe other vendors doing their business.

Have a look at my booth display on the Day 3. I simply just added some out-of-date fashion jewellery to test the market.

As predict, sales is still not improving but to my surprise for this last day, I concluded my biz day with little joy where I managed to sell 3 of my handmade clips c/w fridge magnets; these are the 3 pieces:

Once again, I take this opportunity to thanks the gentleman that appreciated and purchased my clay creations. Also, I have received an enquiry from a student which might want to order large volume for X'mas Gift. I hope she will contact me thereafter.

Afternote

Overall, the 3 days venture in general, have enriched my entrepreneurial experience. Indeed, I have enjoyed the whole process and I think this is definitely a good experience to honor one's salesmanship and marketing skills. I would certaintly make a come back but of course the next time round, I will source for better niche products and improve on the booth set up. I also have an opportunities to meet new acquaintances and discovered new possibilities.

Till then, stay tune for my next venture in the near future.

Second Day Into the Weekends Market

On the 2nd day, I can say I don't feel as exciting as the 1st day although I'm still felt there are some lucky stars around me to make it for the day. As for the marketing strategy, I decided to focus more on my overseas buy products. Have a look at the picture of my Day 2 set up! Can U see any different as compare to Day 1 booth?

Again, not the least I have expected, sales is still not good. Infact, is even slower than Day 1. Btw, it is a Saturday but it did not have much crowd.

I thought tourists (especially the western) should like these oriental look stuffs but I'm wrong. There is not even a single people looking at it. Eventually, I knew why these stuff cannot attract anbody (Local and Tourist). Irocially, thanks to nowsadays budget airlines to various countries like Thailand, China and Vietnam etc. Majority could easily book a flight and fly to these destination to get much more than I can offer. Hence, why should they stopped at my booth to look at these stuff? Foolish thought! right?

These are the products somehow can attract at least some stop-by longer at my booth to look at my stuffs. I confirmed that fashion jewellery, necklance, watch is the niche products that can go at this weekends market. Hence, because I have only 1 or 2 pieces of these products, it still cannot prompt them to buy it. (Sigh.......).

By the end of the day, disappointment already filled me. I keep wondering why my craftwork has not receive any response (no sales and not even enquiry). I knew I got the wrong products at the wrong place but I wish at least a response or comment. And hence, I still maintained a "non-zero" sale by selling 2 soft toy keychains and 1vietnamese figurine fridge magnet. Here, I would also like to take this opportunity to thanks the 2 consumers that have patronising my booth.

I felt tired and sleepy. One more day to go. What else can I put up to test the market? That night, I slept with a blank mind. I have run out of ideas and items already.
